A new book, “Victory Over Cancer!” by Dr. Matthias Rath and Dr. Aleksandra Niedzwiecki serves as a blueprint for ending the cancer epidemic. Interestingly, shortly after publication of this book and after this interview, the New York Times published an article titled, “‘Cancer’ or ‘Weird Cells’: Which Sounds Deadlier?” This article points out that many of the conditions diagnosed as cancer may not be cancer at all and the diagnostic terminology needs to be revised and changed according to seriousness of the disease.

The fear of death that is intimately associated with the word cancer is so overwhelming that almost all patients are coerced into surrendering their bodies--and bank accounts--to the medical community, ultimately directed by pharmaceutical industry. The fear mongering technics work perfectly once the word “cancer” is inserted into the discussion. Impending death sentence associated with cancer diagnosis compels millions of rational individuals to undergo mutilating surgeries to exposing themselves to highly toxic chemicals and hazardous doses of radiations under the name of ‘treatment’!

According to National Cancer Institute’s definition, “Cancer is a term used for diseases in which abnormal cells divide without control and are able to invade other tissues”. Invading into other tissues, or ability to metastasize, is the key in diagnosis of cancer and incidentally, that is also the most common cause of death in patients. In fact, more than 90% of the deaths allocated to cancer, occur due to metastasize and involvement of vital organs as liver, lungs, and brain. Yet, there is very small amount of research focused on stopping the metastasis.

Almost daily, one or the other type of aberrant cells are generated, and effectively destroyed, in the human body. Not all of them turn into cancer. The healthy immune system of the body is able to eliminate these cells well before they take a hold and grow. Some researchers now say that "If we had a 100% sensitive test that could pick up everything a pathologist would call cancer; it's possible that most of us, if not all of us, would be found to have cancer." No wonder that many of the researchers feel that the term “cancer” is getting out of date and is unnecessarily frightening. Several conditions indicating abnormal cell growth fall under the broad diagnosis of cancer, which may or may not be fatal at the end.

However, the pharmaceutical industry has turned this disease into the cancer industry and therefore millions of ‘cancer patients’ into a multi-billion dollar market. Unfortunately, the financial motivations associated with the diagnosis of ‘cancer’ far outweigh the benefits of any of the presented treatment options. The cancer associated expenditure is so exorbitant, that it is becoming un-affordable not only to the individuals but also to the most developed nations in the world.
