Cellular Medicine in
Other Cardiovascular Conditions

Dr. Rath’s discovery of the true cause of heart disease has led to the understanding of how nutrient deficiencies can lead to a host of other cardiovascular conditions. The heart and blood vessel system performs the most important functions in the body. It distributes blood, which carries oxygen and nutrients to every cell in the body, and removes waste products. Blood defends us against infections, it distributes growth factors, and performs numerous tasks essential for health. If there is a persistent blockage of the blood supply to any organ, it leads to its degeneration and eventual death. If the blood supply is cut to any part of the heart muscle, it can cause heart attack and even death. If blood cannot reach any part of the brain, a stroke can occur.

In order to protect the cardiovascular system from dysfunction and, consequently, to prevent heart disease and other cardiovascular conditions, it is important to better understand how cellular nutrients working in synergy support the health of the cardiovascular system. Vitamin C, the amino acids lysine and proline, and other nutrients that work in a synergistic way are essential for supporting the collagen and connective tissue production needed for optimum stability of blood vessel walls and for providing biological energy for the proper function of the heart. More details can be found in Dr. Rath’s book Why Animals Don’t Get Heart Attacks...But People Do.
